Research

Situated in the broad field of Sociology of Aging and the Life Course, my research agenda lies in three independent and intersecting areas:

1. Family dynamics: size, structure, intergenerational relations, caregiving.
2. Health: health care utilization, chronic diseases, and mental health.
3. Subjective well-being: life satisfaction.

I examine these topics within and across several global regions including Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), Asia, Africa, and Europe.
